SMS Highlights Starch Innovation for Thailand’s Pharmaceutical Future at “Sci Power For Future Thailand”

On 15 August 2025, SMS is honored to be invited as a speaker at the Sci Power For Future Thailand fair — a flagship event organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). The event serves as a platform to promote the application of science, research, and innovation (SRI) for sustainable economic growth, bringing together stakeholders from academia, government, and the private sector to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and build collaborations for Thailand’s long-term development. 

Under the theme “Transforming the Thai Pharmaceutical Industry with Locally Sourced Excipients”, attendees gain insights from leading experts in universities and the private sector on advancing pharmaceutical innovation and reducing dependency on imports and promoting the consumption of Thai products. Representing SMS, Dr. Siwarutt Boonyarattanakalin, Assistant Innovation Director, presents DAVAMED® C1 — an advanced starch-based excipient that offers exceptional flowability, high binding capacity, and excellent disintegration properties. Designed from locally sourced starch, DAVAMED® C1 not only meets stringent pharmacopeia standards but also demonstrates the potential of Thai excipient manufacturers in producing international pharmaceutical solutions.
