SMS Formed a Partnership with MTEC, Paving the Way for Innovation and New Possibilities for the Food Industry sms-underline

SMS organized the seminar with MTEC researcher team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toemsak Srikhirin (the Director of MTEC), brainstorming ingredient solutions to drive food products that serve the global food demand. The primary objective of the seminar is to network food businesses and implement starch innovation to deliver premium quality at the most cost-effective level.
The first highlight is focused on the incorporation of plant protein ingredients and new extrusion technology, which enables more capacity to produce plant-based products with a more desirable texture and appearance.

The next highlight is to emphasize dietary fiber, enriching nutrition in various food applications as much as possible. Resistance starch type 5, the starch lipid complex, has been developed to function as a prebiotic and effectively apply to many kinds of food products.
In consumer’s perceptions, foods and beverages with a high content of protein and fiber are mostly recognized as healthy and nutritious foods, especially those with ingredients that are purely made from plants.

SMS, we are glad to be part of the innovation partners, and we look forward to capturing any opportunities to broaden the food industry through our innovation expertise.
