June 21, 2023, SMS arranged the symposium ‘Starch Innovation for Smarter & Sustainable Choices’, by having honored guests from government agencies, including senators, Trade Policy and Strategy Office, and National Science Technology & Innovation Policy Office attended, led by Mr. Jane Namchaisiri (the President of Future Food Committee)

Dr. Werawat Lertwanawatana, CEO of SMS Group, inaugurated the event with a speech that outlined the objective of fostering innovation in response to future food and sustainability trends. The symposium emphasized noteworthy products, such as plant protein, resistant starch as fiber, and thermoplastic starch for bioplastic. These innovative solutions were introduced and comprehensively discussed, with a focus on propelling them towards a broader market through collaborative efforts between the government and private sector.
